Pete's Walks - Evening Primrose

Picture omitted

Photo taken on 21/07/07 near Salcey Green, Bucks., though the plant was just over the border in Northants.

This is a very tall plant (the one in the photograph was over 5ft tall) that has been introduced from North America and Chile. There are a few different types, but they hybridise so well there are thought to be far more hybrids than pure species - so I'm not going to attempt to define it further than as some type of Evening Primrose. I saw this by a roadside on Day 2 of the MIlton Keynes Boundary Walk (the road formed the boundary between Northamptonshire and Buckinghamshire, the plant was on the Northants side, but the nearest settlement was in Bucks).

I'm fairly certain the plant in the following two photographs is Large-flowered Evening Primrose.
