After about half a mile I reached a rather complicated junction where three footpaths and three bridleways meet - I went straight on along a bridleway, which was now a narrow path just inside the edge of a tree belt. Further on there was woodland on both sides, with masses of Bluebells. Eventually the bridleway turned right along a drive, but I continued ahead down a short path to reach a road junction in Nettlebed.

I stopped to eat my packed lunch on a bench at this junction, then went straight on down a lane to reach Nuffield church. Opposite it, a path (part of the Ridgeway national trail) led across a meadow and then crossed part of Huntercombe Golf Course, where waymarks and white-topped posts showed the way (it seemed longer across the golf course than I remembered).

I then crossed a road (the A4130 again) and took a path that went slightly downhill through a wood, then crossed a large arable field. Still on the Ridgeway, I then crossed another section of the Chiltern Way in a tree belt, and continued across another huge arable field, heading towards Ewelme Park.
