On the far side of the field I turned right behind the hedgerow, and followed a path to Great Widmoor Wood (I entered it where a corner of that wood meets a corner of Lordling Wood, to my left). The path continued just inside the wood, with fields nearby to the left, continuing along a short track to reach a bend in a minor road, where I went straight on to reach the hamlet of Kingsash.

I continued through the hamlet until I reached a junction where a lane came in on the left. Just a few yards down the lane a path started on the far side, heading downhill across a large stubble field. The path then went over a stile and continued beside a hedgerow on my right for a few hundred yards (I was surprised to see some beautiful Field Pansies still in flower here). The path and hedge eventually turned right, and I saw some White Campion growing here - like the Field Pansy, it normally flowers into October. On finally reaching a corner of the field, the path turned left along a rather overgrown farm track, which brought me to a lane where I turned right.

I followed the lane until I reached a junction by Wendoverdean Farm where I turned right. This short lane soon brought me to the A413 main road, which I crossed and then took a path starting a few yards to the left. This crossed some pastures or paddocks with Mayortome Manor over to my right (mainly hidden from view), then went straight on across a railway bridge and along a hedge-lined track to reach Cockshoots Wood.
