From the next field corner, by the corner of a lane, I took a permissive path running between hedges with the lane just on my left. When the path reached a more open area of long grass and bushes, I went through a gap in the bushes by a seat and crossed the lane. A path on the other side rose up Hanover Hill, following the right edge of a cattle pasture. The path then ran between old hedges for a while, before running along the edge of an arable field with a wood on my right. In the next corner, I turned left and followed another side of the same field as far as a gate into a wood called Long Copse. The path continued through the wood for a couple of hundred yards or so, and on reaching the far side of the wood, continued along its edge with an arable field to my right. I went straight on alongside the wood at a path junction in a field corner where another path went right, and in the next field corner I entered Finings Wood.

The start of the path through Fining Wood
Almost as soon as I entered the wood I turned right on a path that stayed fairly close to the edge of the wood on my right. After a while it joined a track, where it went right. The track soon curved left through the wood, and after a while the path forked slightly right from the track. Further on the path crossed a footbridge over a tiny streamlet, then it left the woods and ran between fences to enter Lane End, by a former pub on my left. I followed a path going half-left across some grass in front of me, soon reaching a drive where I turned right to reach a road. I crossed the road and went straight on across some grass to a brick wall, the path then turning left alongside the wall. I passed in front of a cottage, the path then soon going down an alleyway to emerge at a road in the centre of Lane End.
