At the top of the hill the drive turned left and then right to pass between the buildings at Upper Gatehampton Farm. I continued along the drive for about another quarter of a mile (I noticed both Dovesfoot Cranesbill and Field Pansy along here). to reach a large farm building on the right. Here the bridleway parted from the drive, going left and following a mature hedge on the right with a large paddock on the left to reach Great Chalk Wood. I was now on part of the Chiltern Way and I would be following its waymarks all the way back to Goring. The path initially ran close to an edge of the wood to my right, and I soon spotted some Greater Stitchwort, Yellow Archangel and Wild Garlic.

After a while the bridleway passed a more open area on the left (lots of plastic tunes protecting young tress), where part part of the wood had been cleared. Near the end of the cleared section I came to a bridleway junction where I turned left, soon spotting more Wild Garlic.
