Google map of the walk

I followed the road for about half a mile, passing a pub and a Mission Church (both on the right). I then turned left down Cogdells Lane, continuing straight on where it becomes the drive to Cogdells Farm. When the drive turned left, I carried straight on along a bridleway. This soon turned right (a footpath went straight on), with a tall hedgerow on my right and a shorter hedge to my left. The latter sometimes allowed me to have a nice view over the valley on that side - I think it had been about ten years since I last came this way and I'd quite forgotten about these views.

Further along the same bridleway

On reaching a wood I went straight on at a path crossroads, now on a footpath as the bridleway turned left at the junction. On the far side of the wood, I turned right along another bridleway. After a few hundred yards, where a wood started on my left, I went straight on at another path crossroads - again I was now on a footpath, this time the bridleway had turned right at the junction. I went straight on at another path crossroads (where I crossed the route of the Chiltern Heritage Trail), and a bit further on the wood became Lowndes Wood. The path all the time was curving imperceptibly from north to west. The path then crossed a meadow or pasture, then followed the right edge of another such field to reach a road.
