The path then dropped quite steeply down the eastern side of Lodge Hill, with a fine view ahead over the Saunderton valley towards Loosley Row. At the bottom of the slope, the path continued beside a hedgerow on my right for almost half a mile, very gently descending. There was a kink in the path part way along, where the hedgerow turned left and then right. Eventually the path brought me to a minor road.

Across the road, I continued following the Ridgeway as it went down the drive to Longwood Farm, then carried on along a tree-lined path between paddocks and fields. The path then continued through the Princes Risborough golf course until it reached a railway line. There were pedestrian traffic lights here, new since I was last here, but fortunately I had a green light. The path then soon went through a gate and crossed a meadow (there were signs up about the wild life here), then went through two more gates in quick succession - the section between these to gates was over a railway tunnel, I could see the line in a cutting to my right.

Beyond the last of these gates, I left the Ridgeway by turning right along a field edge, running parallel to the railway cutting I'd just seen. After a few hundred yards I turned left at a path junction, the path first going to tree at the left end of a hedgerow and then crossing a very flat field to reach the A4010 main road.
