I did this circular walk of about 9.4 miles on Monday, December 23rd, 2024. It was a repeat of a walk I did just five months earlier (most of this report is cut and paste from the report of that walk). I don't normally repeat a walk so soon, but this route just suited my purposes today.
I parked by the ancient church in Little Missenden (grid reference SU 921989), and started walking at 10am, going a few yards towards the centre of the village, then turning right at a lane junction (into Beamond End Lane). When this lane turned right, I took a path going half-left, which rose gently uphill across a large arable field (passing a tree in the middle of it), heading towards a bridleway named Toby's Lane.

On the far side of the field I turned right and continued slightly uphill along Toby's Lane, an old track that initially had tall hedges either side. The track soon levelled out, and I occasionally had views to the fields on either side. After about a mile, I went straight on where a path crossed the track. After maybe another quarter of a mile I turned right where a second path crossed Toby's Lane.

This path crossed a field, and then ran as an alley between fences before continuing down a roughly-surfaced street in Beamond End. At the end of this street I turned left, soon reaching a T-junction where I again went left (though this was actually almost straight on). I quickly reached another T-Junction, where I carefully crossed the A404 main road to reach Penn Wood. I then carried straight on through the wood, soon reaching a narrow fork in the path where I took the right fork. After walking through Penn Wood for about half a mile I reached a road where I turned left and entered the village of Penn Street, with its large green on my left.
