Google map of the walk

I followed the road for two or three hundred yards until a fingerpost indicated a bridleway going right. This crossed a yard at The Tree Barn (they sell Christmas trees) and continued down a hard-surfaced drive between farm buildings and cottages. Beyond these the bridleway continued between hedges either side for a few hundred yards to reach Greenfield Wood. The bridleway now dropped downhill and soon came to a track along a valley bottom where there was a bridleway junction. One bridleway went straight on, going uphill, but I turned left and followed the track along the valley bottom, still in Greenfield Wood.

After a few hundred yards I reached a bridleway junction where I turned left (the track continued straight on, but that's not a public right of way). This bridleway followed another track for a few yards, but then went straight on when the track turned left. It now rose uphill, the OS map showing that it was roughly along the boundary between Greenfield Wood and College Wood. After a while the bridleway turned right, so it was now in College Wood, and levelled out. The bridleway now very gradually descended over several hundred yards until it reached a glade, or open area, in a valley bottom where several paths or tracks met. The bridleway turned left here but I took a footpath going straight on, back into the wood (not along any track). There was a very short steep bit, then the path continued more gently uphill.
