Pete's Walks - Scabious

Picture omitted

Photo taken  8/07/06 at Sewell, Beds (Day 7 of my Berkshire-Essex walk).

This is another flower I see fairly frequently on my walks. There are several varieties of Scabious, but I have yet to manage to distinguish between them (Update 21/04/08 - my friend Jez on the Wild About Britain site says this is probably Small Scabious). The flower gets its name from the fact that it was once believed to be a cure for scabies.
