Pete's Walks - Cornflower

Picture omitted

Photo taken 27/06/10 at College Lake, Bucks.

Apologies for the slightly out of focus photo! Cornflower, once common in some areas, is now very rare, probably only native to Kent and the Isle-of-Wight (it is sometimes deliberately sown as a wildflower seed elsewhere, as in this case). It flowers between June and August.

This is a slight 'cheat' as the photo was taken at one of the meadows at the College Lake reserve where such wildflowers are deliberately planted and grown. I have not yet come across it on any of my walks.
