Pete's Walks - Beeches Way

About My Walk

I walked the Beeches Way in June 2009. I did it in two days, about a week apart, each day walking about 8 miles of the route in an easterly direction, then turning round and retracing my footsteps. So at the end of the two days I had walked the whole 16 mile route in both directions.

I chose to start the walk near Cookham and head towards West Drayton, as that is the way the walk is described in the leaflet. The route is signposted both ways however, so I could just as easily have started at West Drayton.

As there are few suitable places to park a car on the route, on both days I had to walk a short distance to reach the route of the Beeches Way, and I have shown the extra distance as purple lines on the maps.

All the mileages given are very, very approximate and are not to be relied upon.

Note: I have numbered each photograph (in red) and inserted the same number in the text to show where in the walk the photo was taken.
