I went left for a short distance along the road, then turned right along a path that started through a farmyard. After going over a stile, the path continued through a pasture for a few yards, then followed a hedge of holly on my right past a ploughed field. It then carried on for about a third of a mile through a narrow wood to reach a road. A path continued on the other side, again following a hedge on the right past a ploughed field. I continued straight on after this field, and the path eventually brought me to a car park. I went through it and along its short drive to reach a tall sign telling me I was at Lee Gate.

I went a little way right along the road here, then went down  a track or drive called Furzefield Lane (a byway) on the other side. After passing Furzefield farm and some cottages this brought me to Lordling Wood. The track soon turned right here - when it turned right again at a junction I turned left onto a footpath, but then after a few yards turned right onto another path (this soon passed close to a building or cottage on my right). Just before reaching the edge of the wood, I went left at a path junction or fork. The path then followed the edge of the wood on my right for a short while before continuing across a field of stubble to reach a lane.

Across the lane, a path went straight on along the right edge of a meadow. It switched to the other side of the hedgerow as it passed the next field, which was ploughed, then returned to the left of the hedgerow in the next field. This brought me to another lane, by Old Brun's Farm.
