Eventually the path reached the edge of Lambridge Wood, where it went over a stile into a golf course. I continued in roughly the same direction to a post with a waymark, and then carried on to a narrow belt of trees, with a fairway on my left. At the far end of the trees I kept straight on, soon joining a track. After a while, the public footpath went over another stile and soon joined a drive by a large house. This drive soon became a lane, and where this turned right I took a footpath going left. This followed a fence (topped with razor-wire) on my right, which led downhill to a housing estate in Henley.

I turned right then took the next street on the left. At its end I went left for a few yards, then took a footpath on the other side (right). I soon came to a path junction where I kept left, following a narrow alley to reach the A4130 main road. Here I went right for two or three hundred yards until a brick and flint wall ended on my left, where I took a footpath going left. This ran gently uphill between fences, with a field on my left and sports fields to the right, before passing through a bit of woodland to reach the deer park around Henley Park. The path soon levelled out, and it was then a pleasant stroll for just over half a mile through the deer park - there's usually a view over the Thames Valley from here, but that was lost somewhere in the fog like all the other fine views today.
