It had been at least five years since I last walked most of Toby's Lane (I've walked the odd bit of it more recently), and there were parts that I didn't remember very well at all. The hedges either side were so far apart that I can well believe that this section was once a surfaced lane, though I don't remember any evidence of tarmac on the ground. Further on there was a short section in the middle where the hedge on the left disappeared and it was just a field path

After three-quarters of a mile, I passed the eastern edge of Breaches Wood on my left. The lane then started to descend into the Misbourne Valley, now with tall overhanging hedges either side. Where a path came in on the left, there was a good view down towards Little Missenden (the part near the church, where I'd parked). I continued down Toby's Lane, not really remembering at all this last section as it entered Little Missenden, reaching the road through the village opposite The Crown public house.

Another path I didn't walk today - this is looking towards Little Missenden from Toby's Lane (the path ends where Beamonds End Lane leaves the village)
