After a while the byway turned left. I went straight on where a byway went right, then at the next junction I turned right onto yet another byway that after quarter of a mile or so brought me to a lane. Across this the byway continued (now called Fox Lane). After another quarter mile or so I turned left onto a footpath, following a hedgerow on my right through two fields with the wooded slopes of Aston Hill ahead of me. The path then ran past a garden on my left to reach Dancers End Lane where I turned right.

Where the wood on the left came to an end, I turned left along a path just inside the wood and started the long uphill section to the top of Aston Hill. This was a steady plod, the first part being relieved somewhat by the occasional views right, out towards the Vale of Aylesbury. Further on I had the wood on both sides (the trees over the fence on my right housed a mountain biking course), but the gradient eased here. After I while I came to the wooden fence around Aston Hill farm, which the path followed to reach the roughly surfaced farm drive.

I then continued along the farm drive, with the wood still on my right and then the car park of the Mountain Bike centre on my right. On reaching a road, I crossed over and went a few yards left before turning into a drive. Here I immediately went over a stile on the left, and then crossed an empty pasture diagonally, passing a trig column in the centre. Through a gate in the corner, I crossed a path and continued downhill through part of Wendover Woods, crossing the drive to the visitor centre at one point.
