I passed the church on my right, then took a path starting to the right of the church car park. This crossed a field with two or three horses in it, then continued alongside a fence on my left through a large pasture dotted with a few trees. I kept straight on through a small enclosure, then just as I drew near a gate next to the road through Little Gaddesden, I turned sharply right onto a bridleway. This soon turned left (by another gate), running between garden boundaries on my left and a wire fence, with a nice view over the valley to my right. The bridleway then entered Hoo Wood at a gate, continuing through the wood for about half a mile.

Beyond the wood the bridleway continued across a large grassy field that usually has some horse jumps in it. It then crossed a ploughed field to a hedge corner, where it continued with the hedge on my left. On reaching a drive (from Well Farm), the bridleway followed it right for a short way, then turned left, alongside another hedge on my left. It went straight on where the hedge turned left. On the far side of this field I came to a junction - the bridleway went right here, but I took a path going straight on across another field. I then followed a hedge on my right, passing the rear entrance to a farmyard. I stayed with the hedge when it turned right, and then soon reached a road through Dagnall. I went left here, and then straight on over a roundabout. I soon reached a village sign on the grass to the right of the road, where I sat on the circular seat around the sign to eat my lunch.
