I went a few yards into the wood (ignoring a farm track going left) and turned left along another bridleway. The bridleway ran through part of the wood, then ran for some distance between the wood and a fence or hedge on the left. Eventually I came to a junction where a footpath went straight on, but I stayed on the bridleway which turned right through a gate and crossed a large area of rough grass dotted with mature trees (this looks very much as if it was once the park around a grand house, and it's close to White End Park Farm). On the far side of this area I turned right along a bridleway named Green Lane.

After only a hundred yards or so, I turned left down another bridleway, which ran between a hedge on my right and a wooden fence, beyond which was a large corn field. After the corn field, the bridleway ran between overhanging hedges and gradually dropped downhill into the Chess Valley.

Just before the bridleway reached a road, I turned left onto a footpath that ran along the right of an empty and somewhat overgrown pasture, then through a long enclosure with wire fences either side. It continued through another enclosure or paddock, then went down the drive of a cottage, turning right to reach a lane in the hamlet of Blackwell. I went just a few yards left along the lane before taking a path on the other side, which went down a farm track and soon passed some farm buildings on my left. The path continued along the right edge of three empty pastures, all sloping uphill to my left. The path continued just inside an edge of Frith Wood, soon bearing left and climbing uphill with a field just  to my right.
