I did this circular walk of about 5.6 miles on Saturday, 5th February 2022. It was a new route for me, though almost entirely on paths I'd walked many times before (the only exception was Warmscombe Lane, which I'd only walked once before).

Having parked beside a lane as it crosses Maidensgrove Common (Grid Reference SU717886), I set off about 11.30am and began by following the lane into Maidensgrove (so the larger part of the common was on my left). Where a lane came in on the right, I turned left along a private drive, soon passing a pond on my left. At the end of the drive I went straight on along a path into Pishillbury Wood, soon coming to a T-junction where I turned left. After a hundred yards or so I came to another junction, where I turned right (the OS map shows these two junctions as a path crossroads). I then followed this path through the wood for several hundred yards, and then through a tree belt, to reach a road on the edge of Stonor.

I turned right and followed the road into Stonor, soon passing the entrance to Stonor deer park on my left. I went straight on where a road came in on the right, and then after another hundred yards or so took a bridleway on the left. After passing between a couple of gardens it started going uphill through Almshill Wood, with the boundary fence of the deer park on my left. I always struggle a bit up here, and took it particularly slowly today as I'm still suffering the after affects of Covid-19.
