Pete's Walks- Cadmore End and Idlecombe Wood (page 3 of 4)

After about half a mile, waymarks on a post on the right indicated a path junction, where I turned right onto a path that descended 'steps' down through the wood. On leaving the wood, there were good views left and right along the valley. The path now followed a fence on my left downhill through an empty pasture (there were sheep in the fields either side of this one) to reach Holloway Lane. Across the lane a drive started (one of the Wormsley Estate drives), and a bridleway went half-right through Turville Wood. When I came to a bridleway T-junction I went right, then after a hundred yards or so I took a footpath forking left from the bridleway (the OS map shows these two junctions as a crossroads).

I'm pretty sure I'd not walked this path since 2013 (it's part of my Chiltern Chain Walk). It continued through more of Turville Wood, crossing a drive at one point. On reaching the edge of the wood, the path continued uphill along the right edge of a steep sheep pasture. In the corner of this field, I went through a gate into an empty pasture, the path continuing a bit further uphill, before turning slightly left and levelling out. I continued with trees on my right, and some nice views ahead and to my left. I spotted a Roe Deer in the field here, but only got a blurry photo (in my haste I left the camera on the wrong setting). The path then turned into the trees (I can't remember if there was a gate or a stile here) and rose a short way uphill. At a path junction I went straight on past Ibstone church, and then turned left along a lane to reach a T-junction on the edge of Ibstone.
