The byway now more or less levelled out as it continued through Bixmoor Wood. When I came to a fork in the wood I remembered I needed to go left, but there was a waymark on a post anyway. Further on the byway continued just inside Little Common (which seems to be another wood), and then ran between hedgerows again. I then passed some buildings and residences at Homer Farm, where the byway gave way to another section of lane. After another half mile or so, the lane ended at a a T-junction.

I crossed the road and took a public footpath just to the left (this was a new path for me, previously I've always taken the bridleway starting just to the right that goes to Stoke Row). The path went a short distance through a wood, crossing a drive just before exiting the wood at a stile. The path then followed a hedge on my right in a rough pasture for a few yards, but when the hedge turned right the path went half-right across the pasture. Across a lane, the path continued in the same direction across another pasture (that had recently had cows in it), where I spotted some very withered Chicory. Over another stile, the path went half-right beside a garden hedge on my left and a tennis court. The path then turned left along a drive for a few yards, then went over a cattle grid and continued between hedges and fences for several hundred yards, with pleasant views either side. I then went over another stile, and followed a muddy track to reach English Farm.
