I turned left along the lane, and after a couple of hundred yards or so, I turned right onto a path that followed the right edge of a large sheep pasture (there were sheep way over to my left). I then crossed another lane and continued on a path that took me across an arable field to Codmore Wood. I followed the path through the wood (this bit seemed shorter than I remembered) and then continued across a huge arable field (one of the biggest such fields I've walked across in the Chilterns) to reach a lane.

I turned right to follow the lane towards Latimer. After a quarter of a mile or so, I passed Latimer church on my right, and very soon afterwards I took a path on the left. This went through a meadow (or possibly part of a garden) and then down an alley to reach the centre of Latimer, where I sat on a seat on the triangular green and ate the remainder of my lunch.

I turned right from the far end of the green, and soon came to a gate on the right. Through this, two footpaths went off and I took the leftmost one. This was soon running close to the river Chess, over a fence to my left. Through another gate (with Latimer House up to the right) I crossed a bridge over the river and then followed the footpath across a grassy enclosure to reach the road that runs through the Chess valley.
