On leaving Fire Wood the path continued along the bottom of a small valley, with arable fields either side. Where a field boundary started on my right, I turned right and followed it as far as a metal kissing-gate. Through the gate the path continued between wooden railings and then between a tall garden fence and a tall hedge, before crossing a small area of common (close to a drive on my left) to reach the road that runs through Northend (part of the parish of Turville). I turned right and followed the road for about a third of a mile to reach a junction, with a large pond close by on my right.

The road turned right at the junction, but I went straight on for a few yards down Holloway Lane, then turned left onto a bridleway that started along the drive to Northend Farm. Beyond the farm, on my left, the bridleway turned right, entering the Wormsley Estate and continuing along a track. Where the track turned left there was a nice view on the right along a valley towards Turville (there were a few lambs here, too).

A hazy view towards Turville (I'd cross this valley later, to reach Idlecombe Wood on the right)

As I continued along the track, with hedges either side, I looked out for and eventually spotted Primroses, having remembered seeing them here last year. Further on there was a gate on the left with a nice view over the Wormsley Valley, where I was heading. The track now became better surfaced, a drive rather than a track. Where it then turned left, the bridleway continued downhill with  tall old hedgerows on either side.
