Pete's Walks - Cowleaze Wood and Radnage (page 3 of 5)

At the end of Collier's Lane I continued down Grange Farm Road (a lane!) for a few yards, before turning right onto a bridleway that followed a farm track towards Pophley's Wood (I was mainly looking into the sun on this next section, so I apologise for the quality of the photos). The bridleway curved left and then right as it climbed through the wood to emerge at a house named Pohley's. Here I followed a minor road southwards (right) for a few hundred yards to reach Water End, where I turned left and was soon following a lane downhill between tall thick Holly hedges.

The lane from Water End down to Beacon's Bottom

At the bottom of the slope, just before reaching the village of Beacon's Bottom, I took a path on the right. This passed through a small area of beech trees, then turned left and climbed a grassy slope to reach the A40 - there was a nice view to my right here, looking west in the direction of Stokenchurch. Across the main road a stile led into East Wood, the path staying close to the east edge of the wood, until a path junction where it turned right to head into the centre of the wood. The path now led towards the head of a valley, where it turned sharply left and followed a grass strip through the trees.
