Pete's Walks - Buckland Common, The Lee, Chesham (page 2 of 4)

I turned right and then turned left by a tall sign (not sure if it was for the village or a pub). After passing through a car park, a path went left, soon running next to garden fences on my left. It passed through a small bit of woodland, then followed a left-hand hedgerow through a large arable field. Across a minor road the path continued southeast through a narrow unnamed wood, then along the edge of another field to reach a farmyard on the northern side of Lee Clump, another part of The Lee.

I turned left along the road here, but soon turned right on a path that soon took me to Grove Wood. Since just past Dundridge Manor I'd only walked this part of the route once before in the opposite direction, but now as I crossed the road on the far side of the wood I was back on more familiar territory.  A path took me across two sheep pastures, then entered Lowndes Wood. Continuing on through the wood, it gradually curved right, through further woods that are not named on the OS map (I've just seen that the Google map names them as Bottom and Hightree Woods).

A little further along the bridleway, just before I turned right by Bellows Wood

At a bridleway T-junction, I turned right, now on the northern edge of Bellows Wood, On reaching the corner of the wood, I turned left on a path going quite steeply uphill, just inside the edge of the wood. On reaching a path T-junction, I went over a stile on my right into a corner of an overgrown meadow or pasture, with a nice view over Ballinger Bottom. The path turned left here then continued southwards between hedges and fences with pastures or arable fields either side.
