Here I turned left onto a footpath, running between a hedgerow and a fence on my right. Where the fence ended I continued straight on for a short way along a track or drive, then turned right at a track T-junction. Within a few yards I went left, soon passing to the left of Dairy Cottage. The path continued for several hundred yards between fences and hedges, gradually descending into the Misbourne valley. At the bottom of the valley I entered a belt of trees, where I turned left along the path that runs through the valley.

At the end of the trees the path continued along a broad grassy gap between fences either side. It then carried on through another field, now with a hedge to my right, to reach Bottom House Farm Lane. On the other side of the lane it went through a small pasture or paddock, then ran through a wide area of rough grass beside a very large ploughed field on my left. It then continued beside a tall hedgerow on my right, with a huge arable field sloping uphill on my left (I spotted my first Peacock and Comma butterflies of 2017 along here, and also a Buff-tailed Bumble Bee).

Beyond the hedge the path continued between arable fields either side, soon starting to follow a hedge on the left. The path through the valley then passed through a large field of rough grass to reach a bridge under a main road. Beyond this it followed a track through a small field and then on between cottages to reach the main road through Amersham Old Town. I turned left, carefully going straight on at a roundabout. Shortly before the road reached the old Market Hall, I turned left into Whielden Street, which I followed as far as the Saracen's Head pub, where I turned right into a narrow street named The Platt.
