Eventually the bridleway left the wood, soon passing a cottage on the left and then reaching a crossroads of tracks or drives where I turned left (leaving the route I'd followed in April 2015) and soon reached the road through Highmoor. I went a few yards right then took a path starting on the other side, initially along a drive and then passing to the right of a property. I soon reached a path crossroads, where I turned right onto what was one of only two new paths for me on this route (actually I'd walked the first section of this one once before, by mistake!). The path ran through a narrow wood, passing a few properties and crossing a drive or private road at one point. On leaving the wood, the path followed a paddock fence on the right - beyond it, on the far side of a meadow I saw two Fallow deer, the "pale brown with white spots" variety which I don't see very often at all. The path then passed through another small wood, before dropping downhill along the right edge of a grassy field with a nice view along the valley to my left.

In the valley bottom the footpath entered Nott Wood, and bore half-right, roughly northwards. After about a third of a mile through the wood, the path met a track where it went left. It then soon came to a T-junction with a surfaced drive, just inside an edge of the wood.
